The Florida Junior Tour
(FJT) was formed by the Florida State
Golf Association (FSGA) in 2004 for the
benefit of junior golfers.
The Florida State Golf Association is one of
the largest golf associations in the USA with
over 180,000 members and 400 volunteer
committee members who serve as rules
officials and course raters. The FSGA is a
non-profit organization which has served the
game of golf since 1913.
The FSGA annually
conducts over 180 days of competition
involving nearly 15,000 competitive rounds
of golf. The organization conducts
more qualifiers for USGA National
Championships than any other golf
association. Each year, the FSGA
conducts over 50 days of USGA qualifying
including (17) qualifiers for the US Open, (9) qualifiers for the US Amateur and
(3) qualifiers for the US Boys Junior.
The FSGA also conducts the Florida State
High School Golf Championships for both boys
and girls.
Florida Junior Tour
The Florida Junior Tour
(FJT) provides affordable, high level
competitions for all junior golfers
regardless if they in Florida or not.
The FJT is:
- Operated by
the
Florida State Golf Association
- Utilizes over 150 volunteers
dedicated to junior golf
- Holds tournaments at top courses in
the state
- Emphasizes affordability, quality
and integrity
The Florida Junior Tour
is for all junior golfers 13-18 years
old that haven't graduated high school and
started attending college. The number of events will continue to
grow as does the Tour. Tournaments will be
primarily 36 hole events and most field sizes
will be limited to 84 players (66 Boys and
18 Girls).
AJGA Performance Based
Entry
The Florida Junior Tour is the only
Florida tour to participate in the AJGA's
Performance Based Process. This process
allows juniors to earn their way into AJGA
events. Click here to
learn more about the FJT-AJGA relationship.
Scholarship Entry
The FJT will also provide either reduced or
free entry into tournaments for qualified
competitors that demonstrate financial need.

Allied Organizations
In
association with the
American Junior Golf Association (AJGA),
top competitors will receive exempt status
into their events and earn performance points.
All events are also nationally ranked by
Junior Golf Scoreboard (both age
divisions) and
Golfweek/Titleist (16-18 only).
Advisory Board
The FJT is guided by
an Advisory Board of PGA and LPGA touring
professionals, PGA Section Professionals,
college golf coaches and top USGA and FSGA
officials.
Competition Days
FJT
events are typically conducted on weekends
except when school is out of session.
The first round is usually held Saturday,
starting in the late morning or early
afternoon, often allowing players and
families the time to travel to the
tournament site on Saturday morning.
The second round will be first thing Sunday morning. As summer
months approach, both rounds will be in the
morning.
