The Florida Junior Tour offers reduced membership pricing to juniors who play out of a member club of the Florida State Golf Association. To be eligible for the price break, the junior or one of his/her parents must have an active GHIN Handicap number at an FSGA member club in Florida.

The GHIN service is a handicap system developed by the USGA and serviced by the FSGA. Over 500 clubs in Florida use the GHIN system, these clubs contribute annual dues that fund the activities of the Florida State Golf Association including the Florida Junior Tour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there two different FJT membership and tournament prices?

Juniors are eligible for the reduced membership and tournament pricing if they, or one of their parents, keep their handicap on the GHIN (pronounced "gin") system at a club in Florida. All clubs in Florida that use the GHIN system are member clubs of the Florida State Golf Association and contribute annual dues which help preserve and protect the game of golf in Florida.

To be eligible, the junior or one of the parents must have an active GHIN number at a club in Florida.

Your club's GHIN computer must transmit or go through a handicap revision before your GHIN number will be recognize by the FJT website. Many clubs auto transmit every night, while some clubs transmit less frequently. Don't become a GHIN member and join the FJT the same day expecting to get the lower price!

What is the GHIN (Golfers' Handicapping Information Network) system?

The GHIN service (pronounced "gin"), developed by the USGA and supported by the FSGA, is the largest handicap service provider in the world. Over 9,700 clubs and about 2 million golfers throughout the United States maintain their handicap on the GHIN system. Click here for more information on the GHIN service.

How do I get a GHIN handicap?

To obtain a GHIN handicap you must play out of a club that subscribes to the GHIN service and ask to join their handicap system. Usually there is an annual charge under $30, however some clubs don't charge a handicap fee for junior  golfers.

Over 500 clubs in Florida use the GHIN service, so you shouldn't have to look too hard to find one in your area.

I am on GHIN service, but I don't know my GHIN number; what do I do?

All GHIN numbers are 7 digits. If you don't know your GHIN number, contact your club or the FSGA office at 813-632-3742.

My club uses another handicap system, what can I do?

Well, unfortunately your club is not using the service designed by the USGA and supported by the FSGA, so you are not eligible for the lower membership price. We suggest you urge your club to subscribe to the GHIN service and support the Florida State Golf Association.

I live out of state, what can I do?

Well, unfortunately since you are not a GHIN member of a club that supports the Florida State Golf Association you are not eligible for the lower membership price. Even if you on the GHIN system in another state you are not eligible for the lower FJT membership price because that club is not a member of the FSGA and does not contribute annual dues to the FSGA.

I'm planning on becoming a GHIN member, but I have to sign up for membership right now, can I get the lower price?

Sorry, you must have an active GHIN number when the membership is purchased to be eligible for the reduced price.

I became a GHIN member after I paid my FJT membership/tournament entry fee, can I get some money back?

No. Sorry, no refunds will be given to those who become GHIN members after they join the FJT, however, you are now eligible for the reduced tournament entry fees.
