Qualifying Series
(Q-Series) gives newer members and
non-exempt players a chance to earn FJT
exemptions while competing in a high
quality, national ranked event (Jr. Golf
Scoreboard). Q-Series events are
open to all current FJT members who do not
hold a current FJT exemption as
of the first day of the Q-Series tournament
(can't tee off with an unused FJT exemption,
see exception below).
Each event will be conducted over 36-holes
and in the same professional manner as all FJT tournaments. The field will consist of a
maximum of 84 players and include both boys
and girls (in a ratio similar to the Tour's
membership). Majority of the Q-Series events
are for the older age division (16-18)
as this division has the most difficulty
gaining entry into regular Tour events.
Earning an exemption after being
accepted into a Q-Series: With the
growing number of tournaments during the FJT
season it is possible for a player to earn
an exemption or have an exemption reinstated
after the player was accepted into a
Qualifying Series event. If a player earns
an exemption or has one reinstated more
than one week before a Q-Series
tournament the player will be withdrawn from
the Q-Series and be given a 100% refund. If
a player earns an exemption or has one
reinstate less than one week before a
Q-Series tournament the player will be
allowed to play in the event.
We appreciate your patience and support
while we continue to grow and adjust our
policies to meet the needs of the great
junior golfers of the FJT.
Qualifying Series events will be
conducted exactly like regular FJT events
with some slight modifications:
To reduce the demands on families, the
first round will typically be conducted on
Saturday beginning in the late morning or
shortly after noon. The final round will
start first thing Sunday morning. Many
families will be able to drive to the host
site by leaving home early Saturday morning,
eliminating the need for a Friday night
stay-over.
